Life Drawing - Set No.17
For this set of drawing we did a range of exercises, starting with quick charcoal sketches of short poses. These aimed to help us study motion and looking at how the body shifts from pose to pose, looking closely at how the weight is moved. Next we did a similar series but this time looking at form and structure. Such as looking at the lines that run through the body and how this can be used to make a pose look more soft rather then rigid. We also explored the use of basic shapes, in this case boxes to explore structure and how this affects the body shape. We also explored negative spaces, and how looking at these can give you a better idea of the forms and shapes found in a pose. Continuing this idea on we used chalk to look at a similar concepts, using the idea of light and shape to look at negative shapes and our ideas on  form.
