Life Drawing Set No.3

Life Drawing Set No.3
Charcoal and Chalk on news print.
For our third set of Life drawings we had to focus on our use of perspective , using measurement to clearly plan out, the shapes and sizes of the different forms.Although I had the stylization down, this was a process I greatly struggled with, with most drawings being slightly inaccurate, something I hope to work on in future sessions.

'The Deep' Storyboarding practice

'The Deep' Storyboarding practice.
For this assignment we where given a script and set design, and asked to go away and construct a workable storyboard from these resources. Close attention was needed when drawing backgrounds and character placement within the frame. I think completed the task well, using as many frames as possible to make character actions, as clear as possible. Although I think even more frames could have been used to add even more detail.

Weekly Brief - Tangerine Dream

Weekly Brief - Tangerine Dream
"Find a piece of fruit. Draw it, taking care to look at the form. Now draw a character(s) based on the form of the piece of fruit."  For this brief I wanted to explore a range of shapes and sizes when it came to my observational drawings, paying close attention to my use of shadow to achieve this. I choose to work loosely when It came to character designs, simply looking at simple forms and emotions. I think it worked well, allowing me to bring life to my quick character sketches.

Weekly Brief - Acting the Goat

Weekly Brief - Acting the Goat
"Draw animals all week. Have a go at stylising them afterwards."
Within this week we're asked to draw animals and then stylize our drawings. For this I wanted to experiment with a range of different species, paying close attention to body shape and eyes. I was pleased with the results.

Weekly Brief - Object of the day

Weekly Brief - Object of the day
"Choose an object from the list: Tree/bush, Car, Fabric, Hands/feet, Food, Vessel, object of your own choosing, each day draw a different object" Pencil/ Pen on paper.
For this task I wanted to practice my observational skills, simply drawing what I saw in front of me. This was of working was simple, but fundamental and one I was pleased with.

Weekly Brief - Toy Story

Weekly Brief - Toy Story
"Find a Toy, draw the toy all week in different locations, give your toy a week of adventures"
Pencil and markers on paper. For this brief we had to find a toy and create a series of draws that told a story, I choose to experiment with angle and  location, paying close attention to scale and placement of characters in the frame. More detail would be useful but over all they turned out well.
