In order for environments to be properly modeled we needed a clear plan for each room, with this in mind I drew out a plan for what the Dart trap room would look like, as well as an alternative older version. This proved to be an interesting challenge in working out the logistics of how the room would work and what evey side would look like, I enjoyed it and it gave me a chance to test my background design skills too.

With some more free time between work, I deiced to go back and properly draw my little flame gecko Nug. I really enjoyed working in a cute style and playing around with the lighting and shading of this piece.

With the project moving on and more scene set ups being created, I was able to start producing layouts and painted backgrounds for shots. After realizing we were a little spread thin, we deiced to pull together and focus on a single shot in order to get one finished. This background would be for this shot. After receiving feedback on the saturated colours in our previous backgrounds, I dialed down the intensiveness of my colours and created something that we were much happier with.

Just like the other statures the Queen needed a variation too, as well as a slight update to the original turnaround in order to make the hands clearer to modelers. I again enjoyed breaking down my originally turnaround to create the broken one, I was happy with the result.

After much discussion we finally decided to rename our film 'Lowen' after our main protagonist. In  order to do this we decided to have our film title revealed at the beginning of he film on a rock.  This meant we needed to design the rock, I came up with a few designs, looking at shapes and typography. I actually enjoyed rock designing alot more then I thought I would, it was fun working in the style and looking at how best to get this asset to fit the world.

As our film had two different timelines, alot of our assets needed two versions, an original and a more broken older version. I redesigned each of the three statures, taking our chucks and adding in vines and cracks to give them an ancient look. I was very pleased with the result and enjoyed making an alternative version to a turnaround I had previously produced.

As part of one of our scenes, the goblins look over their map for their journey ahead and for that they needed a map! After looking over old maps and fictional treasure maps for inspiration, especially the work of Tolkien, I produced this. As well as the map itself we wanted a series of doodles to cover it to give it character, the first I produced was deemed 'too good' for our childish scribbler , so I went back and made doodles more child like and even included some easter eggs for the other third year films being made at the same time.
